Developing in Jersey
A warranty your buyers' lenders will recognise
From apartment blocks in St Helier to a handful of family homes in St Clement or a farmhouse conversion in Trinity, almost every Jersey development ends with a buyer asking their lender for a mortgage. The lender, and the buyer's advocate, will expect to see a structural warranty in place.
We arrange that warranty for you. We approach providers who cover Jersey, compare what they offer for your type of scheme, and set out the full cost - premium, inspection fees and our own fee - before you commit to anything.
Jersey has its own planning and building control system. The warranty provider runs its own technical inspections alongside it, and we agree how those will work before you start on site.

Why use a specialist
Getting cover for a site off the mainland
Many UK warranty providers price and plan their inspections around sites they can reach by road. A Jersey site means flights or ferries for their surveyors, and some providers simply do not take island work on.
- We know which providers cover Jersey and the kinds of scheme they prefer
- We agree the inspection stages up front so the build is not held up waiting for a visit
- We check the provider is likely to be accepted by the lenders your buyers will use
- We give you one clear breakdown of premium and fees, with nothing hidden

Jersey questions
Structural warranties in Jersey - your questions answered
Do Jersey mortgage lenders ask for a structural warranty?
Most lenders expect a newly built or converted home to have a structural warranty from a provider they accept, or another form of cover such as a professional consultant's certificate. Each lender sets its own rules, which is why we check acceptability before you commit.
Can you protect buyers' deposits on an off-plan apartment scheme?
Some providers offer optional insolvency cover, which protects buyers' deposits if the developer cannot complete. It is added to the structural warranty at the start, so mention it when you ask for a quote.
We have already started building in Jersey. Is it too late?
Not necessarily. Providers can often offer retrospective cover once they have seen evidence of the work done so far. Expect more questions and a higher premium than registering before the start.
Is 12 year cover available in Jersey?
Some providers offer a 12 year policy as an alternative to the standard 10 years. We can quote both so you can compare.
